About using our services - Terms and Conditions:

Dorset Magic Media is a not-for-profit venture. This means we do not charge for our services. The only occasion upon which our clients will be required to part with money will be for the purchase of materials they themselves order, such as web hosting or domain name. The Dorset Magic Media service has been developed to assist in the promotion and delivery of voluntary and charitable organisations and small local business, in the south of the UK.

Material supplied

All material supplied to Dorset Magic Media must have copyright clearance. This will include any images, music and text. Please note that images copied and pasted from the internet or any other source, web based or otherwise, will be presumed to not have copyright permission unless otherwise stated and therefore will not be used. It is the responsibility of the Dorset Magic Media customer to ensure all material supplied does not infringe any copyright or trademark or is subject to intellectual property rights. In using Dorset Magic Media’s services all customers must pre-agree to this condition.

Timescales

Although every effort will be made to give, as well as achieve, time scales it should always be borne in mind that Dorset Magic Media is a hobby venture and is only undertaken when time permits. We cannot, therefore give a guaranteed time scale or final delivery date. If you are seeking a contractually binding deadline then please do not use our services.

Existing and former clients are welcome to contact us at any time if a site update is required or being considered.

Web hosting and domain names

Customers are responsible for all web hosting and domain names - and must ensure that they do not infringe any trademarks, copyright or intellectual property rights. In addition customers will be required to purchase their own web space and also be responsible for any annual charges. We can supply a list of hosting companies if required but customers will be required to deal directly with providers on all occasions - Dorset Magic Media will not act as a broker.

To initially upload a web site we will require the necessary usernames and passwords but once we have uploaded your site we always advise that you change your password, which returns exclusive control back to you. We also provide you with a copy of your site for your own management together with a list of FTP software.

Where appropriate we may advise customers to seek additional professional advice. Should we do so, we will suspend our service delivery until our recommendation has been fulfilled.
